Reseña

The guitar method PATTERNS provides a cohesive approach to learning how to play the guitar effectively and to express oneself directly with the instrument, as if speaking or singing. It connects both hands and fingers with musical understanding through listening and uses visual patterns on the guitar to enhance learning via a systematic and well-structured study program.
This condition is achieved by practicing daily scale exercises for at least forty minutes, focusing on simple patterns along a rail succession and visualized finger placement on the strings. The exercises are always played with a metronome for time reference and with prior listening to the chords for their harmonic context. Regular practice of these scales develops a solid instrumental and musical technique over time, serving as a foundation for any Western musical style and culture that the guitarist may pursue. It also provides a method for future teaching.
Contents Vol. 2
This volume of the PATRONES method introduces guitarists to the basic patterns and their types, generated from the minor pentatonic blues scale and the major diatonic scale, which includes the natural minor scale and modes. Additionally, a chapter dedicated to "new" guitarists guides beginners from scratch to achieving Goal Nº 2 of the Blues Pattern. Finally, we offer a brief introduction to the right-hand picking technique known as the "jalao," which the author adapted for the guitar from the joropo culture using the Venezuelan bandola llanera.
Each exercise is accompanied by its diagram, musical score, and tablature, and is supplemented with videos on the YouTube channel @PatronesGuitarraEmilio, providing an alternative for online practice with the video and the included metronome, rather than relying on sheet music. These exercises are grouped together as a series called "Goals," which the student can gradually achieve at their own pace. With the PATTERNS method, the development of basic guitar playing technique is significantly accelerated, enabling players to become active creators, true to their emotions and musical imagination.
