Reseña

The PATTERNS guitar method offers a coherent approach to learning to play the guitar with excellence. It enables players to express themselves directly through the instrument, as if speaking or singing, by connecting the fingers of both hands with a musical sense through listening. It employs the guitar's visual patterns, accelerating learning through a systematic and comprehensive study program.
This is achieved by practicing scale exercises based on simple rhythmic succession patterns for at least forty minutes daily while visualizing the fingertips on the strings. The exercises are always played with a temporal reference to the metronome and only after first hearing the chords in their harmonic context. With consistent practice of these scales, a solid instrumental and musical technique will develop over time, serving as a foundation for any Western musical style or culture that the guitarist chooses to pursue while providing a method for future teaching.

Contents Vol. 3

This volume of the PATTERNS method introduces guitarists to the patterns of the chromatic scale, the major diatonic scales of thirds, sixths, and tenths within the concept of "rail succession" along the fretboard, and finally, the octaves. Arpeggio patterns for a selection of chords are included, along with chord patterns featuring their finger and string symbols and a summary of basic harmonic progressions. Each exercise is illustrated with a diagram, musical score, and tablature and is reinforced with videos on the YouTube channel @PatronesGuitarraEmilio for online practice, using the included video and metronome as an alternative to reading sheet music. These exercises are studied as a set of goals that students must gradually achieve in their own time. The appendices include all major diatonic scales in traditional notation and tablature, complete with fingerings for both hands along the entire fretboard in riff sequence. The final section presents bibliographic and electronic references.

The PATTERNS method significantly accelerates the development of basic guitar playing techniques, enabling players to become active creators in tune with their feelings and musical imagination.
